Greetings and Thank you for visiting our website!

Well Tammy and I made the jaunt to Agate Bay Lodge over the Memorial Day weekend.  This was our first trip up since we purchased it in January.   With the snow melted we got our first oppourtunity to see what we have gotten ourselves into.  I'm happy to report, we are thrilled!

The first thing we did was look around the property.  We checked the main lodge/owners residence, and it is wonderful.  The building was hand built, and has a wrap around porch that has a fantastic view of the lake.  There will be many a fish story told on that porch while enjoying a beverage with our new friends.

We walked through each of the cabins.  There are currently four cabins, two on the water, and two further back on the property.  The two on the water are in pretty good shape.  Tammy, is already working on ideas to make them homey and comfortable for our guests staying at Agate Bay Lodge.   One of the two in back only needs some cosmetic help and cleaning before it will be ready for guests.   There are also a couple great spots for new cabins when we start building them soon.

One of the first orders of the day was firing up the generator.  It has not run since last year, and it fired up like it had been running yesterday.  We are to far off the road for standard power service, so our Lodge is run completely on generator power and propane.  We have plans in the works to convert to solar and propane power, and keep the generator as a back up.

Once the generator was up and running, it was time to start the water pump.  Again, happy to report that it worked flaulessly, and had the water system filled and flowing in no time.

After a bit of exploring the many nick and crannies of the storage buildings, and starting some cleaning, it was time to relax a bit.  Just being up there with the sights and sounds of nature bring you back to a simpler time.  It is very soothing to the soul, and brings a tranquility that people have a hard time finding in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.  If you are looking for a vacation that will let you enjoy your friends and family, whether you fish or just enjoy the beauty this area of Ontario has to offer...  Drop us a line at Agate Bay Lodge.

Have a great day,

Greg & Tammy Bolinski

Hold the phone... I bet you are wondering about the fishing.  We did not have a chance to get a boat out on the lake and fish (we'll do more of that shortly).  We did wet a line from shore and a whitefish had the honor of being the first fish caught from Agate Bay Lodge (also had a couple walleye on the line as well).  Not a huge fish by any means, but special to us because it was the first fish.

Thanks for stopping, and come back soon!
